PARKADE
FREELANCE

Sketches

The objective of this freelance project was to develop a strong visual identity for the live band, Parkade. Throughout the process, I maintained close communication with the client to ensure the project direction aligned with their vision and met their needs.
GRUNGE and AUTHENTIC
CHANGE IN DIRECTION

The logo concepts presented to the client draw inspiration from the origin of the band’s name, Parkade, which is linked to parking spaces. The first two concepts use clean, simple typography, incorporating line elements that represent parking bays. The use of yellow and dark tones reflects both common parking signage and the moodiness often associated with jazz. The bottom two concepts feature stencil-style typography to evoke a grungier, urban tone, while still referencing parking symbols through the use of double lines and box framing around the text.
After further review, the band decided to pursue a different direction for the tone and identity of their brand. To reflect their preference for formality and simplicity, I revised the initial concepts by introducing a classic serif typeface. Thin line elements were retained to preserve the original visual references to parking spaces, while aligning with the client’s updated requirements for a more refined and elegant aesthetic.
